Mindfulness Is Not Dangerous

This presentation will introduce the mindful lawyering concept and discuss ways to assist faculty and students who are interested in mindfulness.

Mindful law courses may appear to shun technology, as students may be asked not to use laptops in class and faculty may avoid using projectors. But the growing interest in mindful lawyering practices is actually an opportunity for IT and libraries to better assist faculty and students. This requires our communities to think about how we can add our voices to the topic. What would mindful tech in the classroom and legal field look like? Isn't the act of unpacking a legal question and deciding where and how to search for an answer an exercise in being mindful? Do our fields have our own mindful practices that could assist future lawyers?
