Ch-ch-ch-changes: The Evolving Role of the Law School IT Department

Does your IT department include hammers and saws as tools of the trade? Have you lived through multiple changes in leadership and pushes for IT centralization, just to have it followed by another change in leadership and a push for decentralization?

This year’s conference theme is “The Year of Learning Dangerously” and speaks to ‘the tough balancing act … of meeting… growing demands within the legal education industry.’  Many law school IT departments have weathered/are weathering growing demands, shrinking budgets, staff layoffs, yet must be willing to fulfill needs that must be met by someone…anyone!

The panelists will discuss the ch-ch-challenges and changes they’ve lived through – and sometimes embraced - over many years in Law IT. We hope to include any number of surprise, last-minute panelists and perhaps even a guest appearance by Ziggy Stardust.

Session to be followed by open mike where panelists sing Under Pressure or Up Where We Belong.  Audience choice.
